Androctonus Australis x 2

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

^adult yellow fat-tailed scorpion

Yellow fat-tailed scorpions (androctonus australis) are responsible for the highest number of scorpion-caused human deaths. Its sting can kill in 2 hours, and faster, if you’re allergic to it.

They are commonly found around Africa (Algeria, Chad, Egypt, libya, Mauritania, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia) and Asia (India, Israel, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen).

I just got a pair of them a few days back (at 4th instar). They’re called Ichi and Banzai :)

02> Side view. Ready to burst into 5th instar :P

03> Moulting to 5th instar begins. The exoskeleton breaks open at the head area.

04> Ichi pushes himself forward.

05> Ichi falls out, with blood pumping through its expanding limbs.

06> Old body, new body. Moulting process complete.

07> Tail gets noticeably thicker.

08> Limbs still look very fresh and transparent.

09> Banzai and his fat, yummy mealworm.

Crème de la crop

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

The formula for good hair is simple: Good crème (dye), and good crop (cut).

These are my favourites. They are balanced, edgy, and non-standard. For more hairstyles, visit be-labo.com.

KIMI Freedom Fighter

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

I feel like a genius after I got the idea of combining 1/6 military clothing/accesories with my Pullip doll :P  They’re seriously oversized but I managed to put them together somehow. Here’s what I selected for Kimi-chan’s look:

1. Gore-Tex Winter Jacket (not featured) and Pants RM32

2. BBI T-Shirt RM8

3. CQB Overvest RM27

4. Danners Boots RM25

5. M4 SOPMOD Riffle RM20

6. Fleece Jacket RM23 (not featured)

The default doll, a Pullip Paja, costs about RM247 (locally available at RM348). She was shipped in from Singapore by Magma Heritage. The custom wig costs RM50, purchased from Kstarr. I also performed an eye surgery on Kimi with Blythe eye chips (a gift from Luciole). In total, Kimi is worth RM407 (not including her 2 other custom wigs).

Bedtime Buddha

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

I completed this within 12 hours today and it is dedicated to those who find peace in the image of Buddha.

Inspiration comes from my trips to Bangkok, the land of great respect, compassion and tolerance for one another.

May wisdom and patience bring you absolute fulfillment. Happy Vesak Day =)
