Kimi’s Eye Surgery
Witness the transformation of Kimi’s original green eye chips to new Blythe pink eye chips (a gift from Luciole, my Pullip tutor. Thanks dear!).
Note: The entire operation isn’t difficult. However, you are advised to carry out these steps with extra care, paying attention to your Pullip’s fragile neck. Contact me if you have any concerns before starting.
Preparations
New parts: Blythe eye chips, aluminium foil, new eyelashes (available in pharmacies).
Tools: Screwdrivers of multiple sizes, blade, small knife, scissors, sand paper of coarse(#150) and fine(#180) grade, cellophane tape.
Instructions
Step 1 – Acquiring the eye mechanism
Remove the original wig, open her head (detailed instructions here) and acquire the eye mechanism. Any glue residue or rough edges (minor damage) on the plastic parts can be removed with the use of fine grade sand paper.
Step 2 – Removal of original eye chips
Cut the original eye chips out of their white sockets. Cut at a straight angle downwards (not diagonally). Be careful not to cut the white parts surrounding the chip.
Step 3 – Fitting the new Blythe eye chips
The Blythe eye chips are slightly larger than your Pullip’s eye sockets. Sand down the edges of the Blythe eye chips until they fit.
Step 4 – Adding glitter to your new eyes
Insert aluminium foil behind the new eye chips. Just press down the foil until it wraps the back of your eye chips.
Step 5 – Lush Lashes
Cut the new lashes into lengths that fit through the eye hole (of the face piece). Then use cellophane tape to stick on the new lashes onto the back of the eyelids (like how they glued the original lashes).
And you’re done! Just reassemble your Pullip’s head and enjoy her beautiful new eyes, with extra thick lashes and glittery glow.
